CAMELLO BLEND® (Hybrid Brachiaria)
Main Description:
Camello is a plant with high genetic potential, forage capacity, and nutritional value. Its high growth rate, precocity, and drought tolerance make it a viable forage alternative for the dry tropics and areas with marked periods of drought.
Key Characteristics & Benefits:
- High Drought Tolerance: Its highly developed root system allows it to reach deeper soil levels to extract moisture, staying green longer during dry spells.
- Rapid Establishment: Ready for its first grazing within 80–90 days.
- Growth Habit: Decumbent (prostrate) growth after the first grazing, providing excellent soil cover and reducing erosion.
- Nutritional Quality: High palatability and digestibility, leading to increased meat and milk production.
- High Protein Potential: Can reach up to 18% crude protein depending on soil fertility and management.
- Early Regrowth: Strong recovery capacity at the onset of the rainy season, allowing for more grazing cycles per year.
- Pest and Disease Resistance: Tolerant to common tropical pests and diseases.
- Plant Height: Reaches between 90 and 110 cm in a short time.
Management Recommendations:
- Days to First Grazing: 80–90 days after germination.
- Rotation Time: 25–30 days.
- Adaptation: 0 – 1,400 meters above sea level (masl).
- Animal Output Height: It is recommended to move animals out when the grass is 15 to 20 cm high to ensure regrowth.
Seed Technology (Speedygerm®):
The seeds are treated with Grupo Papalotla's patented Speedygerm® process, which includes:
- Scarification: To ensure the highest purity and germination potential.
- Incrustation: A coating that includes micronutrients, fungicides, and insecticides to protect the seed and improve seedling vigor.
- Identification: A color coating for easy recognition.
Summary Tagline:
"The earliest hybrid Brachiaria on the market with high drought tolerance."
